Synopsis and Discussion

Air quality levels are holding in the upper GREEN range as high pressure slides offshore and clouds move into the region. A low-pressure system will begin to develop in the deep south and drift towards NC overnight. Rain ahead of this system should slide into the Triad by morning and help keep AQI readings in the GREEN range once again for Tuesday. Heavier rain, along with potential thunderstorms, will make its way into the state late Tuesday and early Wednesday as the Low tracks through the Mid-Atlantic states. Most of the energy and rain will depart our region by Wednesday night as clear skies return Thursday. Expect AQI levels to remain in the GREEN range through Thursday. (Bodenhamer)
